The project respects all the characteristics of complex intermodal buildings, where the need to identify specific architectural features must not only comply and satisfy specific functional and design requirements, but also respond to the analysis and management of passenger flows.
The elevated stations’ preliminary design and use mode layout were verified and updated and further reviewed and optimized to ensure adequate space for all different technical functions, improving passenger flows as well. Attention focuses primarily on the stations’ public areas, those places that will have a greater influence on the passengers’ travel experience.
This process has been performed in detail using passenger dynamics simulations, which have been carried out simulating different scenarios, from normal to emergency.
The metro stations’ passenger service level in diverse areas has been monitored and the layout’s compliance with the international standard codes for the evacuation of passengers in case of emergency verified.
